Dr Cigolla completed a Doctorate in Psychotherapeutic and Counselling Psychology at the University of Surrey in 2011 and has extensive experience of working in NHS services as well as seeing private clients. She offers individual and group therapy to clients and offers supervision and consultations to other professionals.
Dr Cigolla is trained in using different therapeutic approaches which allows her to integrate them in a creative way taking into account the client’s individual needs and preferences. She draws primarily from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), including mindfulness-based therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapies ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Since qualifying, Dr Cigolla completed further training in Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT).
Dr Cigolla enjoys running workshops and seminars for junior clinicians and is passionate about raising awareness of mental health in the wider society. She is also fluent in Italian.
