Dr Natasha Avery is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist who completed her Doctorate at University College London in 2010. She has 10 years’ experience of working across a range of mental health services within the NHS. Specialising in adult mental health, Dr Avery has a particular interest and specialist expertise in working with people with diagnoses of bipolar affective disorder and psychosis, as well as broader skills of working with anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, personality disorders and low self-esteem difficulties.
Whilst predominantly using a cognitive-behavioural approach, Dr Avery integrates a number of models into her work including systemic thinking and mindfulness-based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Dr Avery works with clients individually, with families, and particularly enjoys running therapeutic groups and psycho-educational workshops.
